FWO: Sone bridge will open for traffic before scheduled time

The Son Bridge Expansion Project by the National Highways Authority (NHA) is to be completed by August 31, 2024.

However, the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) has announced that with dedicated teamwork and round-the-clock efforts, the roads and bridges will be opened for all types of traffic from June 10.

The Leh-Soan bridge extension project, which was initially awarded to M/s AK Communication in December 2017, was at risk of being terminated in April 2022 due to inefficiency. As a result, the contract was re-tendered and awarded to FWO in December last year.

In separate news, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated Punjab’s biggest Multan Road interchange and Ring Road Southern Loop (SL) 3 last week.

Following the directive of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, toll tax on SL 3 has been temporarily waived for a month, allowing citizens to travel free of cost.

Besides, he directed immediate action on the SL 4 project and reviewed the road from Addaplot to Multan Road Interchange.
