More routes launched for public bus service in Karachi

Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inaam Memon announced the launch of new routes for the People’s Bus Service at a meeting discussing Karachi’s public transport issues.

The meeting, attended by elected MPAs of Karachi, deputy mayor and other officials, was decided to extend bus service routes in Malir, Kemari, Lyari and District West.

Sharjeel Memon highlighted the government’s commitment to improving public transportation to provide better services to Karachi residents.

In the last meeting, the Transport Department had given detailed information on the progress of various projects including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, construction of traffic signals and renovation of bus terminals.

A U-turn plan for the People’s Bus service was also discussed. A new parking plaza has been planned to ease traffic congestion in central Hyderabad.

Apart from this, the Transport Minister also received information about the construction of eight bus terminals, which will be operational by June.
